We are currently working with 3 Young Clubs run by SWITCH East Devon – Millwey Rise in Axminster, Heathpark in Honiton, and Littleham in Exmouth and Seaton Library Youth Club in Seaton – to provide monthly cooking sessions which help children to develop skills and confidence around food. Not only do these sessions promote healthy relationships towards food and enhance cookery skills, but young people are encouraged to work together, with each other and the cooks, towards a common goal. This helps to build friendships and encourages positive interactions with adults.
At the end of the sessions the young people and staff all sit down together to enjoy the meal they have prepared.
