We have been working with schools in Chard, Cranbrook and Axminster to provide a series of hands-on cooking sessions for parents and their children.
These sessions are all about parents having fun cooking with their children, and learning more about eating healthy, delicious and budget friendly food. The schools in these schools have relatively high proportions of families on free school meals, which makes this type of session particularly relevant.
At the end of each session parents and children sit down together to enjoy the meal they have prepared.
HALFF has in the past also worked with school children in their classes, and at after school clubs.
What people are saying
‘Easy recipes, helpful tips, nice staff that are approachable with questions. We have really enjoyed the sessions.’
‘This session was awesome. Thank you for giving us this opportunity’.
88% of parents/carers felt more confident about cooking with and for their children following the HALFF sessions, and 100% felt more confident about healthy eating.
